Park Life
What a glorious day! I just got back from a run around in the park with my daughter and we did our utmost to soak up as much warmth as we could while it lasts.

I had my camera with me - as I often do - so I had a little fun with light, shade and shadow.

I was drawn, moth-like, to the tableaux above. I love all the contrasts at play here: weathered wood against metal, the dark grit within the vibrant turquoise and the red - one minute deep and glossy and the next, faded to blush and flaking.

I do hope today's belated summer lasts until after Father's Day, at the very least . A picnic in the sunshine would be absolute heaven.
What are you up to this weekend? Anything fun?

chi, these photos are brilliant. gorgeous colour play, and the shadow play is so fun. Happy weekend xxx
Chi, I Love Love Love each photo here. Firstly, of course, seeing snippets of L is wonderful and secondly, there is so much mystery that I want to know and see more... I can see the reflection of her hair... and those little footsies???
Happy mum and daughter are well and enjoying some sun rays.
I've got to work this weekend. Boo!. Planned was catching up with blogs and sleep. Think might manage blog part but sleep will have to wait x
@Leah: Thanks, honey - happy weekend to you, too! :) x
@Tina: Thanks, T! I'm totally biased but her "footsies" are the cutest I've ever seen. :D
"Happy mum and daughter are well and enjoying some sun rays."
I wish! L is fully recovered and bursting with the joys of spring; me, not so much. My eyes are puffed up and half shut this morning. :(
Guess I spoke too soon .........
Have a lovely weekend and do try to get some sleep! xoxo
Love those photographs Chi - the way you've put them together and they're so graphic. Catch every ray you can girl.. x
Gorgeous photos, Chi! Just love them. (Except the "no doggies!" even though I totally get it, although the shadow of your dear girl is stunning!). I love how they say "park" implicitly without screaming it. But oh dear...I hope you're feeling better. :(
I recognize those lovely sparkly shoes!!! Glad you caught the glimpse of sun Chi and took some lovely photos!! xx
Hi Chi - very nice to meet you :)
I love your new bio photo, it makes me happy to be visiting.
Your park photos are great too - I also have a bit of a thing about photographing shadows!
Look forward to reading more

@Ursula: Thanks - glad you like them!
@Lauren: Thanks for being so sweet and encouraging - as always! - and for checking in. :) x
My eyes were much worse than L's so it's taking a litle longer to heal but I'm feeling a lot better today.
P.S. If it's any consolation, the "no doggies" sign only applies to the gated play area where the swings, etc. are. :D
@Caroline: Haha! They're my trademark aren't they? Thanks for stopping by! :) x
@Melissa Jaine: What a lovely thing to say - thank you! I'm so pleased that it had that effect on you. Very nice to "meet" you, too! :)
I love seeing these little snippets of you and your sweet daughter, Chi! I love how you compose each photo, giving us just enough so our imagination must fill in the rest. The shadow of your daughter and her little feet are my favorite. Of course. ;) Hope your weather held up and you had a wonderful weekend, plus father's day.
Thank you, sweet T! :D
We had lovely Fathers' Day weather and a great day out. I'll tell you all about it later! ;)
Looking forward to reading how yours went. xoxo
Wow what great photos Chi. My favourite is the sillhouette of your daughter, so cute with the shape of her hair!
You have a great eye xx
Thanks, Annie-bee! L finds her own shadow endlessly fascinating at the moment so these are really a tribute to that.
I look forward to fishing them out in years to come and reminiscing/laughing about it all. :D xo
Those itty bitty little feet and her little tiny hands just about killed me. So adorable! I love all your pictures, Chi! I'm so happy you and little Miss L got to play, it must mean you're both feeling better (hopefully!). What a sunny day to capture, too. Gah, I'm just squealing with delight over here! This was such a cheery and happy post. What a lovely way to start my week! xoxo
Lovely photos Chi, your daughter is a beaut, in her little red pumps. The red and blue contrasting photos I love so much, it's brilliant that your little'un is colour coordinated too :-) I never noticed the shadow of her hair, thanks Annie! Its a shame the sun isn't a little more consistent, however, we wouldn't get to see the grass so green if that was the case. Have a lovely day x
Oh, BTW, I love your new about page and your photo is brilliant, so much more you. Thanks for your nice comment on mine too x
@Erin: Thanks, duckie - you're so sweet!
L was fully recovered ages before I finally succumbed but, thankfully, I'm now feeling (and looking!) more like myself as opposed to the gargoyle that has been staring back at me from the mirror. :D x
@Sam: Thank you - although I honestly didn't intend for her to blend in with her surroundings!
"Its a shame the sun isn't a little more consistent, however, we wouldn't get to see the grass so green if that was the case. "
What a lovely way to look at it - that'll always occur to me now whenever it rains! :D
"Oh, BTW, I love your new about page and your photo is brilliant, so much more you. Thanks for your nice comment on mine too x"
Aww, thanks! I'm so glad you think so - I agonised over every single bit of it.
Oh, and you're welcome! :) x
